a 'dry run' a couple of days before the interview. At least
this way you will know exactly where you are going and how
long it will take you to get there.

your CV thoroughly, be able to explain any gaps. |

the employer/company - try the internet, most companies have

Smile
- you're never fully dressed without it. |

Shake
hands firmly. |

Make
eye contact and maintain eye contact. |

Greet
the person by name - Mr./Ms./Mrs./Dr. etc. (unless introduced
otherwise). |

Remain
standing until instructed otherwise - when seated, sit up
straight, and place both feet on floor. |

PRESENTATION |

|
Dress
for the occasion - formal tidy dress is safe. |
|
|
Wear
light clothes that fit comfortably. |
|
|
Avoid
strong breath - garlic, smoking etc. |
|
|
Avoid
overpowering aftershave/perfume. |
|

Make
sure you turn off your mobile phone. |

BODY
LANGUAGE |

Avoid
a 'slapdash' attitude. |

Sit
up straight and make regular eye contact. |

Avoid
flicking your hair, scratching your head etc. |

Try
not to speak with your hands, this can be quite distracting.

Attending
interview for a job you do not really want, will be obvious
and may damage your career later. |
