Season’s first snow attracts tourists MC Thakur
Manali, October 24
After the season’s first snowfall in the entire upper Manali area, hundreds of tourists, who arrived in Manali from all over the country, made a beeline for Solang valley, Kothi and Gulaba to see snow
The snow point at Gulaba, about 19 km from here on the Manali- Rohtang Pass road, has been attracting tourists every day. Enthusiastic tourists were seen enjoying skiing, yak ride, making snow man, throwing snowballs on each other and photo sessions. Tourists were in for a surprise to see the entire upper region covered with a white blanket of snow.
Highlights of the Trek
Bakpackers invites you to winter trekking expedition this December. We're trekking this winter through snow covered meadows, boulders, and pine forests on our trek to Kothi, Gulaba and Patalsu in Manali, braving the winter chill, bright and crisp winter sunshine, breath-taking sights of the snow covered peaks, snowball fights, bonfires and camping in the snow for the extremely adventurous...
What to expect
Rohtang is an adventure tourist site where it can be cold even on a summer day. Winds blow at furious pace and it is chill after 3pm. It is the highest point on the Manali-Keylong road and provides a wide panoramic view of mountains rising far above clouds, which is truly breath taking. In winter, the road of Rothang Pass is closed. Skiing is possible even in summer months (May and up to mid June) when the snow is still there on slopes. Wooden sledges are popular for rides. Para gliding is now a day’s very popular in summers between Rohtang and Marhi, taking one high in the sky for unforgettable views and lifetime experience.
Getting there
The expedition starts from and ends at Delhi. Delhi is well connected nationally and internationally from every major destination.
We will take the Himachal Tourism Bus from Delhi to Manali which is around 14 hrs journey, from where we will start trekking.
